Arrival in Saranda

Departure to Butrint, travel time 40 minutes.
View of Butrint National Park, located 19 km south of Saranda, covering an area of 2,500 km2 and including the ancient city, forest and lake. A cultural monument since 1948 for the protection of archaeological sites. – Butrint Castle was built on the ruins of the old acropolis, which was once located on the northern hill of the Butrint peninsula. Within the walls of the castle are the large tower and the archaeological museum. – Lake Butrint (ancient Pelodes) is one of the largest tectonic lakes in Albania, with an area of 16.3 km2 and a depth of 24 m.
