Arrival in Kruje
We will visit the Skanderbeg Museum and the Ethnographic Museum equipped with almost all original items from the end of the 19th century. Finally, we will walk through the famous Kruja Bazaar, which is full of traditional crafts and souvenirs.
Kruja has been the center of Albanian resistance against the Ottomans under the command of our National Hero, Skanderbeg. He did not allow the Ottoman army to cross the border of Western Europe for 25 years, earning the title of “Athleta Christi”, given by the Pope at that time.
Lunch in the city.
-Departure in the afternoon to Durres, one of the oldest cities in Albania. We visit some of the remains such as the amphitheater, forum, archaeological museum, Venetian tower and outer walls.
The city was founded in 627 BC with the name Epidamnus by Greeks who came from Korkyra (present-day Corfu) and Corinth. Greek and Roman authors have called it “The City of Worship” because of the temples, statues and other monuments.
