One-day trip to Shkodra and Lezha
Departure: 07:30 AM from Vlora
The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes, with short stops along the way.
Visit the city of Shkodra, including:
Shkodra Castle (Rozafa Castle) – Located at the southern entrance of the city in a strategic position, surrounded by the Buna, Drin, and Kir rivers. The defensive walls are 880 meters long, enclosing an area of 35,000 m².
Buna Bridge – An Ottoman structure originally built in 1499–1500, initially with wooden pillars and rebuilt in 1899.
Bahçallëk Bridge – Another Ottoman-era bridge; the exact construction date is unknown.
Clock Tower (19th century) – Historically known as the “English Clock Tower,” dating back to the medieval aristocratic period and considered the only remaining structure from ancient times.
Free time for lunch.
Travel to Lezha (approximately 45 minutes).
Visits include:
Skanderbeg’s Burial Site – Skanderbeg was buried in the Church of St. Nicholas, where the funeral ceremony was conducted according to ancestral traditions.
Lezha Castle – Situated on top of a 186-meter-high hill east of the city, of Illyrian origin. Highlights include the ruins of Ottoman buildings, a mosque, a tower with a Roman arch on the southeastern wall, and an Illyrian tower on the southern wall. The castle is a cultural monument offering beautiful views of the Lezha plain and the Adriatic Sea.
Departure for Vlora in the late afternoon. The journey lasts approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Arrival in Vlora and end of services.
