Itinerary
Departure from Vlora at 9:00 AM, arriving in Orikum after 35 minutes.
*Visit to Old Orikum. The ancient city of Orikh is one of the most famous ancient cities in Albania, thought to have been founded in the mid-7th century BC, predating Apollonia and Durrës. In 45 BC, it became the arena of the Roman civil war between Pompey and Caesar, and in the 1st century AD, it was destroyed by a powerful earthquake. The city has a variety of historical and cultural sites, including the Stone Theater, built in the 18th century, which is thought to have been used for theatrical performances and gladiatorial games during the city’s heyday. To reach the Orik Archaeological Park, follow the road to the Pashaliman naval base, about 1 km after the bus stop. It is easily accessible by car.
*Visit the Marmiro Church (it is a solitary place of worship, built on a hill very close to the shore of the lagoon. It is a Byzantine church with a dome, whose construction dates back to the 12th century. Cross-domed churches are typical of monastery complexes, and indeed, the Ruins of a fireplace, a window, and some niches suggest that there may once have been a monastery.
*Afternoon, departure for Llogara Park, the journey takes 25 minutes. Arriving in Llogara, visit the Flag Pine and Llogara Pine (Llogara Flag Pine is located in Llogara National Park, slightly north of the same name, at 910 m above sea level. It has the shape of a flag due to the action of strong winds. The tree is about 20 m tall, 75 cm in diameter, and is 100 years old.)
Afterwards, return to Vlora.
*End of our services.
