Butrint National Park

Departure to Butrint (approx. 40 minutes). Enjoy the views of Butrint National Park, located 19 km south of Saranda. The park covers an area of 2,500 km² and includes the ancient city, forest, and lake. Butrint has been a cultural monument since 1948 for the protection of its archaeological sites.

Highlights of Butrint:

• Butrint Castle – Built on the ruins of the old acropolis, located on the northern hill of the Butrint peninsula. Inside the castle walls, you can explore the great tower and archaeological museum.

• Butrint Lake (Ancient Pelodesi) – One of the largest tectonic lakes in Albania, with an area of 16.3 km² and a depth of 24 meters.
